Sandeep “Sunny” Kishore, MD, PhD
Associate Director of the Arnhold Institute for Global Health
Sandeep "Sunny" P. Kishore is the Associate Director of the Arnhold Institute for Global Health and Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Health System Design & Global Health. He is the founder of the global non-profit Young Professionals Chronic Disease Network; his work has focused on the prevention and control of chronic illness in poor communities globally. He completed a BS at Duke University, an M.Sc as the Usher Cunningham Scholar at Oxford, an MD and PhD at Cornell University in evolutionary microbiology and a post-doctoral fellowship at Yale in social network science and global health. He is the inaugural The Lancet Awardee for Community Service, an MIT Dalai Lama Center Fellow, a Paul & Daisy Soros Fellow and a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. His work has been featured in the UN General Assembly, TEDMED, the WHO Executive Board and in journals including Health Affairs, The Lancet and JAMA. He was also a Speaker at TEDMED 2012.
