About Chase Adam

Co-Founder and CEO of Watsi, Chase Adam, traveled, worked, or studied in more than 20 countries around the world before the age of 21. He spent time in private-sector intelligence in Washington, started a national health program in Haiti, served in the Peace Corps in Costa Rica, and launched an impact loan fund in San Francisco. Chase was recognized by the White House as a Champion of Change, he's a Forbes 30-under-30, a Draper Richards Kaplan Fellow, and he was named the 2016 Visionary of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle.

About This Idea

Watsi enables anyone to fund life-changing medical treatments for people around the world. 100% of individual donations are used to fund patients’ treatments, since their operating expenses are covered separately. They believe that by connecting people we can create a world where everyone has access to healthcare.

In their first few years, Watsi has processed more than $6.5M for over 9,000 patients in 23 countries. Based in San Francisco, the are the first nonprofit funded by Y Combinator, were named one of the top 10 startups to watch by CNN, and "the next generation of charities" by the New York Times.
